How to complete your Onboarding

Required Information

You will need to have:

  1. Administrative access to the Business account

  2. Set-up Third Party Access for Taxually

  3. Confirm the correct Taxpayer Functions and Tax Type authorizations

NOTE: New Registrations | If you are newly registered for a New Jersey Sales and Use tax account and have not set up a New Jersey Tax Portal account yet, please do so by following the instructions in this official New Jersey guide: How to Create a New Jersey Tax Portal Account Administrator.

Step 1: Set up Third Party Access for Taxually

  • Log in to the New Jersey Tax Portal

    • If you see a webpage with a “MyNJ” logo in the header, click the “Tax Portal” link under the Treasury Links section.

    • Confirm that you are in the correct portal. The webpage header should say “New Jersey Tax Portal”, NOT “Premier Business Services” (which is the old portal).

  • From the toolbar, select Profile Information then choose Manage Delegate Users

NOTE: If your toolbar does not have “Profile Information” then you are probably in the incorrect portal. This has caused a lot of confusion with the recent change in portals. Please read the prior steps carefully or watch this video here (skip to 1:00 minute) to ensure you are in the correct portal.

  • Click Add New Delegate and fill in the required fields:

  • Click Next

  • The next screen shows User Details, where you assign access to Taxually, the Delegate User.

    • Check the box next to your Taxpayer Name

    • Start Date: Enter a date up to 3 years prior to today’s date

    • End Date: Leave this blank to prevent access issues

    • Click Taxpayer Functions:

      • Recommended: Assign all functions (for us to provide the highest level of service)

      • Minimum functions required: “File Returns for all taxes” & “Make Payments for all taxes”

    • Click OK

    • Click Tax Type Authorizations:

      • Check the box next to Sales and Use tax

      • Start Date: Enter a date up to 3 years prior to today’s date

      • End Date: Leave this blank to prevent access issues

    • Click OK

    • Click Save

    • Click Confirm

    • Then confirm that the delegation is complete for New Jersey in the Taxually Jurisdiction Information section.

What happens next

  • Taxually will confirm access once you complete the delegation. Most common blocker is the Taxpayer Functions and Tax Type authorization steps. Ensure you have followed these steps correctly.
